Chattogram, Rangamati Crowned Champions at National Kabaddi Championship in Cumilla

The "Festival of Youth" National Kabaddi (Men's & Women's) Championship concluded its Karnaphuli Zone matches in Cumilla with exciting finals, as Chattogram emerged as the men's champion and Rangamati dominated the women's division.

In the men’s final, Chattogram secured a hard-fought victory over host team Cumilla with a final score of 34-30. The match, held at the Cumilla Gymnasium, was a thrilling and closely contested battle from start to finish. Earlier in the semifinals, Cumilla defeated Rangamati 32-16, and Chattogram overpowered Noakhali with a score of 43-21 to set up the championship showdown.

The women’s final saw Rangamati demonstrate exceptional skill and teamwork, overpowering Khagrachhari 31-13 to claim the title. The women’s tournament was played in a round-robin league format with four teams.

Rangamati and Khagrachhari advanced to the final as the top two teams, but Rangamati continued its unbeaten run, easily defeating Khagrachhari to become the undefeated champions of the zone.

The prize distribution ceremony was held after the finals. The event was attended by Md. Amirul Kaisar, Cumilla's Deputy Commissioner, as the chief guest. Special guests included Md. Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), and SM Nawaz Shohag, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation. Also present were Monir Hossain, Treasurer of the Kabaddi Federation, and Afaz Uddin, District Sports Officer of Cumilla.
